Tony has senior status and is pursuing a dual biology and chemistry major.  He is currently doing research with Dr. Gronquist and will be off to Georgetown University to be part of their NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduate Program.  Tony is from Athens PA.

Parker Fink

Parker is a sophomore Environmental Science major with a minor in Chemistry.  He is currently doing research with Dr. Mason testing effluent from the waste water treatment plant to determine if synthetic microbeads are present.  He will be spending the summer on Long Island doing an internship focused on the study of the Plover bird.  Parker is from Fredonia NY.

Raffaelle Borriello and Suzanne Casden Award

Robert SChrader

Rob is a freshman chemistry major with a math minor.  He has already started doing research with Dr. Milligan.  This award is to applaud and encourage his research efforts in the next three years.  Rob is from Rochester NY and hopes some day to be a chemistry professor.

 

 Thumm Analytical Award

 Tony demonstrated excellence in both Analytical Chemistry and Instrumental analysis earning A grads in both the lecture and lab courses and placing in the 95th and 98th percentile on the ACS exams

 

 

Dr. Philip Kumler Senior Seminar Award

Kyle Delgado

Kyle is a Biochemistry major currently doing research with Dr. Fountain looking at the fluorescence of ciprofloxin.  Kyle won this award for his exceptional senior seminar.  Kyle is from Dunkirk NY and plans to eventually do research in pharmaceutical science.

 

 Van Valkenburg Service Award

 David Butzer

David has excelled as Chemistry Club President and has also supported the department in numerous events such as the Science Alumni Conference and Perspective Student Open Houses.  David is a dual Chemistry/Geochemistry and is from Collins NY.

Outstanding Teaching Assistant

Anthony Lake

 Anthony Lake

Tony has been assisting Dr. Lawson  in her general chemistry classes where she employs the POGIL teaching strategy.  Tony was superb in guiding the student learning and also holding weekly recitation sections.  He is currently a recitation TA for organic chemistry.
