Stroke Support Group
Philosophy:
- The Stroke Support Group provides an opportunity for survivors and families to come together in an atmosphere of sharing and caring.
- The group unites around common experiences and positive solutions. It believes in empowering members by providing them with information, emotional support, renewed hope and well-being.
- The group provides a time to share experiences and socialize with participants. Since many survivors experience aphasia after a stroke, the group also provides activities to improve communication skills.
- Although a stroke may have occurred months or even years ago, survivors can continue to show improvement in ways to communicate functionally in their environment.
Description:
- Meetings are free to the public and held every first and third Tuesday of the month at 3:00pm in Thompson Hall.
- See the Stroke Group listed on the National Registry at www.strokeassociation.org
