Stroke Support Group

Philosophy:

  • The Stroke Support Group provides an opportunity for survivors and families to come together in an atmosphere of sharing and caring.
  • The group unites around common experiences and positive solutions. It believes in empowering members by providing them with information, emotional support, renewed hope and well-being.
  • The group provides a time to share experiences and socialize with participants. Since many survivors experience aphasia after a stroke, the group also provides activities to improve communication skills.
  • Although a stroke may have occurred months or even years ago, survivors can continue to show improvement in ways to communicate functionally in their environment.
