GOALS STATEMENT

 

The objectives of this assignment are:

 

1. for you to give some thought as to what you would like to get out of this course
2. for me to get an idea of what you would like to get out of this course
3. for me to get to know you a little better

 

 

1. What are your academic goals? What do you hope to get out of your years in university? Don’t just tell me what degrees you want. What do you want to learn?
2. What are your short-term career goals? What do you see yourself doing in the first few years after you complete your university studies?
3. What are your long-term career goals? What do you see yourself doing in ten years?
4. Keeping the above 3 in mind, what do you hope to learn from this course? Why did you take this course? Simply saying you took the course because it is required is not enough. If you have an idea what you’d like to get out of a course before you take it, you are much more likely to get something out of the course.
5. What specific topics would you like to see covered. Look over the syllabus. Are there topics there you are particularly interested in? Are there topics shown there that you have little interest in? Are there topics not there that you are interested in?
6. Tell me a little about yourself. Where are you from? Tell me about your family. What are your hobbies and interests related or unrelated to college?
