Welcome to The GrOOvy Dream-rater Web Page!!
This site was created to guide the puzzled dreamer through
a few of the many dream related websites availiable.
As you scroll down you will see a link for the site, then a brief description.
The listed sites are a product of selecting random sites that came up as a result of an
Alta-Vista search with the query being on "Dreams" & "Dream Interpretations"
www.lucidity.com
Upon entering the homepage of The Lucidity Institute, a web surfer would
glimpse into the wonderful commercialism of the Internet. The Lucidity
Foundation is an institute that wants to 'help' people realize the power
of lucid dreaming for a price. There was limited information about what a
lucid dream really is. Most of the site focused on tools that will help
someone dream lucidly. If someone wanted to know what a lucid dream is or
how to dream one, a purchase would have to be made from the online catalog
that is disguised as "excerpts from books about lucid dreaming". There
was also a link to a page about a man named Mulla Nusradin. There seemed
to be some kind of inside joke going, because it would just describe a
dream that this man had, but didn't explain the dream or tell why this
link was important to lucid dreaming. If you really want to know what a
lucid dream is and what the significance of one is, don't go to this site.
www.dreamemporium.com
This site focuses on finding various dream web sites and how to navigate
easily. Some of the ways in which the site assists you in navigation
are by inserting NEXT buttons on each page. This convenient addition
gives you a complete journey throughout each site. Also, each topic
includes a brief description of the site. This makes it extremely easy
to narrow your search down to sites, which are relevant to your topic.
This site also includes music. The music accompanies the visitor and
adds to his or her mood while searching for dream web sites.
www.dr-dream.com
Right away you can tell this sight is not a commercial venture,
but one that is actually concerned with helping one interpret dreams.
The creator of the sight first proclaims his mission, a long journey of
finding the meaning of dreams. The simple nature of it shows that it
was made by someone who is less computer savvy, and more concerned with
information, therefore sincere. The site contains links to direct the
puzzled dreamer in the direction best suited to help them. There are also
links to books dealing in dreams. These links have a dollar sign next
to them to indicate payment must incur. This proves that in no way is
Dr. Dream trying to get your money, but instead is offering a variety of
options for the concerned and unfulfilled dream weaver.
www.dreamweavers.org
Dreamweavers is a site that at first glance looks very helpful, and very time honored in
its sense for helping you with your dreams. Because it has the suffix ".org" you would
assume that this would have nothing that would have to be purchased. In the beginning, the
site tells its credentials, what kind of dream language and philosiphy it uses. Then how it
plans to help you the dreamer. As you scroll down, you realize this information is obtained
at a cost, through a multi-volume video collection. Although the video set(shown in pictures)
looks informative the prices range from near $100 to over $370. This makes the ultimate
decision in the quest for dream interpretation one of who wishes to spend a lot of money.
However, in terms of free dream information, purely on the web, this is not the site to go to.
www.myenvoy.com/sleepybear
This dream site allows for in depth insight into your own dreams aswell as others.
It gives anyone and everyone an opportunity to contribute new dreams and submit interpretations.
When first entering this site there is a brief welcoming describing how the site works,
then there is a menu list of dreams that people have submitted. You can read the various
dreams people have entered, others interpretations, or you can analyze someone else's dream
if you have any ideas or suggestions to go about interpreting it.
I was under the impression that since the site is open to anyone to make interpretations
that people would not take critiquing the dreams seriously. My assumption was wrong though
because all of the analyzes were very insightful and whoever submitted their insights seemed
very educated on the topic of dream analysis. They were even aware of the symbolism in dreams.
This site would be useful for someone questioning the meaning of a dream or for someone
who has researched dream analysis and is able to make sense of and translate the symbolism in dreams.
