WEB SITE EVALUATION

Urban Legend

Description:

Sony’s official site for the action packed thriller; Urban Legend has everything you need to find out about the movie.  The graphics, may sometimes appear fuzzy, this depends upon the type of computer the graphics are being shown on.  There are many sites reviewing or describing Urban Legend, but the official Sony site one has everything one could want to know about the movie, all in one convenient place.

Review:

The official Sony site first takes you to a picture of the movie poster and from there you enter a world of danger, mystery and horror.  Urban Legend is a horror movie that doesn’t rely on horrifying monsters to scare its viewers.  The movie, instead plays upon superstitions, that everyday people know about.  The setting is simply, a college in New England.  The players in the horror game, are just your average college students.  They start by telling legends, urban legends.  But suddenly something happens and the player’s worst nightmares start to come true.  All in all this site rates about a 9 out of 10.

I Still Know What You did Last Summer

Description:

Sony’s official site for the sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer has everything one could want to know about the movie all on one site.  Because on all the graphics on this site, it might take a while to come up on to the computer screen, but once it does its worth it to take a look.  The site takes you though, cast descriptions, insights into the crew, pictures, and there is even a game that you can play.  The graphics are good, but because of the dark background they are sometimes hard to see.

Review:

I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is a more traditional horror story then Urban Legend.  The story takes its viewers through a harrowing adventure in the islands.  What starts as a relaxing trip to the islands for the college students, becomes a frightening fight for their lives.  The story takes these college friends from one death trap to another.  The site gives details about the characters, the people they met, the crew, and how to enter to win a trip to the islands. I Still Know What You Did Last Summer is a true horror movie.  It plays on people’s fears of the unknown, mysterious assailants, and violence.  All in all this site rates an 8 out of 10.

SAVING PRIVATE RYAN

Description:

The official web site of Saving Private Ryan shows many highlights from this movie.  There are three main components that can be searched,
they are: "the movie," "the production," and "the official book."  Within these components there are other sections of the web site that can be accessed.

Evaluation:

This web site did not consist of as much information as I previously thought it would have.  "The movie" section described the background
of Saving Private Ryan.  "The production" consisted of different cast member, filmmakers, and behind the scenes highlights.  I expected
more out of the descriptions about the movie, it was only an overview and did not go into much in depth detail.  The cast members were
only described by their previous awards and past movie experiences.  It was a disappointment that they were not described as their characters
in the movie.  The filmmakers were also described by previous acclaims.  This is a good web site to find quick background information about
actors and production members in this movie.  Another part of the production that can be looked at are behind scenes.  There is much
more interesting information about the movie and World War II in this section of the web site.  The best aspects of this site are
the pictures from the movie.  Some come in large close ups that really

Meet Joe Black
This site offers a wide variety of links that are enjoyable to many people. It has many pictures of the cast from the movie. Also it has a
link that allows people to learn about the character and the actor that plays that character. If you like Brad Pitt this is an especially good
movie site to go to. My only complaint is that the site is kind of dark, but I guess it had to be considering it is a sad love story. I give this
site a 9 out of 10 for the quality and quantity of information.

City of Angels

This site is a really poor. It does not offer much information about the movie nor does it have many links. It does have lots of links to other
angel sites which if you are looking for information about the movie this unuseful. I have seen this movie and really liked it. If I had not seen it
before looking at the site I probably would not be to inclined to see the movie. The site needs to have more information about the movie and maybe
add some pictures to download. I give this web site a 4 out of 10 for its lack of pertinent information.

Tarzan

Description:

This web page was created by Disney to introduce their new animated movie TARZAN.  On this page you can get everything from the cast of characters to trailers for the movie.

Evaluation:

I liked this web page because the openning scene grabs the viewer instantly.  It is a Jungle Beat with a little scene from the movie.  The graphics are great and they even have a section of the webpage devoted to how they made the three dimensional images for the movie.  This is definitely a great page for kids and adults alike.  I give this page a 10 for originality and content.

The King and I

Description:

Another great masterpiece by the DPS Media Group.  On this web page there is music from the movie for each section of the site.  It does not have very much information on the movie, but the graphics and music make up for it.

Evaluation:

I am a great lover of graphics so this page was right up my alley.  The graphics were so clear that they seemed to be flawless.  I also liked the way DPS set up the site in the first place.  They made it more interactive and made the information more interesting, by playing educational games that were fun.  I would definitely give this site a 9 because it was lacking a little bit of information about the movie, like what it was about.  If I had to decide whether I would see this movie or not by looking at this web page, I would definitely see it.
