Major News

Hey, everyone. Welcome to the course. (Our first order of business is to come up with a cool name for me to call you all. "Majorites" is a bit scary and "majorettes" is a bit silly. Extra credit to someone who can come up with a better tag.) I'll be putting announcements on this page having to do with course requirements, changes in these web pages, and other matters. Between this page and the main page, you should get a good sense of what's new and upcoming in the course. So I recommend checking out both those pages every time you visit the course web site--at least once a week.

OK, everyone in the family seems relatively healthy again, so we'll be having normal office hoours today and all this week through Thursday's early hours. I've revised both the main page (including moving the Erdrich group project to next Monday's class) and the assignment sheet for the final research project, so please check out both pages and come to class with questions. Thanks.

Ah, now Kuniko's sick, so I'm going to cancel both office hours today. I was, however, able to correct the syllabus on the main page to reflect our most recent (and hopefully final) alterations to the schedule of assignments. I'll change the final research project assignment sheet on Monday.

Hey all, Chika generously shared her virus with me recently and it hit me hard after class yesterday. I'm mostly better today, but will be cancelling my 2:30-3 office hours after class so I can get home and rest! See you in class.

I've updated the syllabus on the main page to reflect the scheduling of the group pedagogical project as it stands as of today. The actual date of your project may change depending on how much we cut into the Gaiman section of the course, but the chapter(s) you and your partner will be responsible for teaching will remain the same.

I've changed the requirements and options for the critical essay and the final research project to reflect the changes we're planning on the course schedule.

I have to cancel my 2:30-3:00 hours b/c my daughter has a mystery rash and I'm meeting my wife at the pediatrician's office now! Sorry!
