Research Interests: Current research is focused on the cultural continuity of using gardens as a source of subsistence, resistance and community cohesion in antebellum slave culture and the African American community during the "Great Migration."
Teaching Interests: I teach courses on U.S. and African American History, including U.S. History until 1877 and African-American History to 1877.
