Research Interests: My specialization is 20th century U.S. foreign policy. In particular, I am interested in the mechanisms through which locals engage and understand international politics and the end result of this process. My dissertation spanned the years 1927-1947 and focused on the experiences of Western New Yorkers in this regard.
Teaching Interests: My teaching interests mirror my research interests in several ways. I have taught and developed courses in: "Post-45 U.S. History," "America and the World," "20th Century U.S. Foreign Policy," and the "History of New York State." At SUNY Fredonia, I have taught both U.S. history survey courses in addition to the Western and World Culture classes.
