The History Club has a threefold purpose:
The group holds monthly discussions about current and historical events, visits and tours historical sites, attends guest lectures, and sponsors visiting speakers.
This year, 2014-2015, we will help organize a faculty/student meet and greet early in the semester in the Japanese Garden at the Reed Library; take a boat tour of the Buffalo River and learn about its illustrious history and its promising future; participate in community events such as the Fall Sweep; support the Honors Capstone (HIST 499) history conference in November; and assist faculty members in judging middle and high school student history projects for History Day in the spring. We also plan to watch historically based dramas and engage in discussion and debate over issues like historical accuracy and popular, western representations of history.
Membership is open to all Fredonia students, faculty, and staff. For further information, contact either the current President or Vice-President.
