The History Club has a threefold purpose:
The group holds monthly discussions about current and historical events, visits and tours historical sites, attends guest lectures, and sponsors visiting speakers.
In the current academic year, 2013-2014, we helped organize a faculty/student meet and greet early in the semester in the Japanese Garden at the Reed Library; we participated in community events such as the Fall Sweep; and assisted faculty members in judging middle and high school student history projects for History Day. We also watched several historical based dramas such as "Argo", "Paths of Glory", and "Mandela" and engaged in discussion and debate over issues like historical accuracy and popular, western representations of history.
Membership is open to all SUNY Fredonia students, faculty, and staff. For further information, contact either the current President or Vice-President.
