Research

My current research focuses on the history of U.S. environmental politics, specifically the development of a conservative, pro-business approach to environmental management. While my work concentrates on the politics of domestic pesticide regulation, it also deals with the impact of pesticide use on a global scale. I am currently working on a paper on the politics of chemical pesticide use in Mexico as part of the Rockefeller Foundation's agricultural development program during the 1940's and 1950's.
