Fall 09 – N. 4

Greetings! We are very glad to share with you another issue of the International Studies Program newsletter. We have exciting news to report: we are launching this Fall Semester the SUNY Fredonia chapter of Sigma Iota Rho, the National Honor Society for International Studies. Membership recognizes the academic accomplishments of students and connect them with thousands of students around the country - those sharing dedication to the study of International Relations. The chapter launching took place on September 23 with the induction the first six members to the honor society.

Another very good news is that enrollment in the International Studies Program is growing, thus following a national trend of increased interest of U.S. college students in academic programs focusing on global affairs. At SUNY Fredonia, majors and minors in International Studies experience the benefits of a strong interdisciplinary curriculum and classes taught by experienced faculty with expertise in diverse fields of study.

The International Studies Program has now a comprehensive website, with information for current and prospective students, and alumni. By browsing the website, majors and minors will find information on degree requirements, internship and employment opportunities, overseas courses, research tools and graduate school guidelines. I hope you will explore the new IS website:
