GENERAL COLLEGE PROGRAM


A minimum of 36 hours of approved courses distributed as follows:

Part I: Skills (courses may be in the major department)

     A. English Composition (EN 100)                         3 credits
 
     B. A writing intensive course                           3 credits

     C. A course emphasizing the development of
        quantative or statistical abilities                  3 credits

     D. A course emphasizing the development of
        oral communication or analytical and critical
        thinking or creative/perceptual skills               3 credits
                                                            ----------
                                                     TOTAL  12 credits

Part II: Introduction to the Disciplines (courses may not be in the major department)

     A. Two courses, one in each of two disciplines
        in the area of natural sciences and mathematics      6 credits

     B. Two courses, one in each of two disciplines
        in the area of arts and humanities                   6 credits

     C. Two courses, one in each of two disciplines
        in the area of social and behavioral sciences        6 credits
                                                            ----------
                                                     TOTAL  18 credits

Part III: Integretive, Advanced Courses (A and B or two from B; courses may not be in the major department)

     A. One course from the approved Part III offering       3 credits

     B. One course with a cross-cultural or international
        emphasis                                             3 credits

NOTES:

1. Students must complete 27 hours in Parts I and II before 
   attempting a course in part III.

2. Transfer students with an A.A. or A.S. degree from a Community
   College in New York State are exempt from Parts I and II.
