The Department of Mathematical Sciences Picnic will be held on Friday, September 18, from 4:00 p.m. until dusk, at Point Gratiot Park in Dunkirk, NY. The cost per student is $1, payable to either Dr. Rogers or Dr. Straight.
Here are directions to Point Gratiot Park:
1. Exit the Campus from Ring Road near the track onto Brigham Road. Turn right onto Brigham.
2. Follow Brigham Road north a little over 2 miles until it ends at the traffic light at Lake Shore Drive (NYS Rt. 5). Turn left onto Lake Shore Drive.
3. Proceed west on Lake Shore Drive about 1/4 mile to Point Drive West (just before the Moose Club). Turn right onto Point Drive West.
4. Proceed northwest on Point Drive West, about 0.1 miles, to the park entrance; bear right into the park.
5. Proceed along the park road - Lake Erie will be to your left. The road will make a right turn away from the lake. Just after it does this, look for a left turn into the parking lot. Make this turn and look for the large pavillion up ahead. That's where we'll be.
