COLLEGE CORE CURRICULUM
In order to provide students with both a specialized and a general education, SUNY Fredonia not only prepares the students in particular fields of knowledge. The university also must provide a general education to help students find an sense of direction and become better able to cope with a changing world, regardless of their specializations.
Students must complete the minimal general education requirements at SUNY Fredonia within the framework of the College Core Curriculum. Some courses offered by the Department of Modern Languages will fulfill different categories of the College Core Curriculum, and the students must check in every semester's Courses Offerings Bulletin.
For the students to fulfill CCC #3 (Foreign Language) every semester the Department offers different basic languages courses.
Students who earned 85 or better on Regents Exam have already fulfilled this requirement. For those who did not, students enrolled in programs granting the B. A. degree have a 6 credit hour foreign language requirement. All other students have a 3 credit hour foreign language requirement.
