I am a counseling psychologist who is interested in studying issues in the area of multicultural counseling. I am currently validating an instrument (Religious Identity Development Scale; RIDS) that was constructed to assess religious identity development. This new instrument is based on a model of religious identity development which is an offshoot of Helms' model of racial identity development. I am also currently working on projects that examine the etiology of racism from a psychodynamic perspective and its impact on racial minorities.
My teaching interests include courses in abnormal psychology and counseling. I am planning to teach courses like psychology of religion, multicultural counseling, and crisis intervention in the near future.
