Becoming a Fredonia faculty member in 1971, I have
taught a wide range of courses in the Department. I served as Chair of the
Department for six and one half years. I have been active in campus
governance, chairing the Faculty Council for two terms and serving three
times as Faculty Secretary. I have been particularly active in United
University Professions, the union which represents Fredonia's and SUNY's
faculty and professional staff. Currently, I am in my fourth term as
President of the Fredonia chapter of UUP. I also edit the chapter's
newsbulletins and in 1997, I won the chapter's Distinguished Service
Award. I am currently UUP's Membership Development Officer, one of the six
statewide officers for our bargaining unit of 22,000.
