I. Course Description:
Frequency: A
The pre-internship is a pre-requisite to PHED 400 Internship. The intent of the pre-internship is to increase a student's awareness of the critical aspects of preparing for their internship. These experiences are designed to give students an opportunity to begin career exploration, develop skills to make contacts in the Sports Management and Exercise Science profession, and apply what they learn to real world situations.

1. Students will explore career options in Sports Management & Exercise Science.
2. Students will contact organizations in the Sports Management & Exercise Science
Field for possible internships.
3. Write resumes and cover letters.
4. Develop competencies in using online search engines.
5. Develop competencies in using the Angel on-line diary.
6. Set work related goals and objectives.
7. Develop competencies in determining work expectations.
8. Develop skills in preparing for an interview.

VIII. Attendance: Regular class attendance is a requirement. The instructor reserves the right to drop a student from the course due to excessive absences. All students will be given one unexcused absence without it negatively affecting their final letter grade. It is the student's responsibility to communicate with the instructor information relative to unexcused and excused absences. (illness, religious observance, and sanctioned college trips).
