Gary C. Eckhart, Professor Emeritus
Gary C. Eckhart, Professor Emeritus, is a graduate of the Yale University School of Drama. In addition to the numerous productions he has designed for the SUNY Fredonia and other colleges and universities, he has had an active career in professional theatre. These credits include design work for the Yale Repertory Theatre, Buffalo's Studio Arena Theatre, Pennsylvania Stage, Players' Theatre Columbus, Stage One, Champlain Shakespeare Company, Idaho Repertory Theatre, New Playwrights Theatre, and the Cleveland Playhouse where he had the distinction of serving as guest designer for the premiere of Arthur Miller's The Archbishop's Ceiling. His interest in opera has found him designing for regional opera companies such as Chautauqua Opera, Kentucky Opera, Opera Delaware, Baltimore Opera, Columbus Opera, Summer Opera (Washington, D.C.), and Tri-Cities Opera in Binghamton, N.Y.
