Angelika Summerton
Angelika Summerton is a 1982 graduate of the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hannover, Germany and holds a master's degree in dance education. "Geli" has been dancing in Germany, Sweden and Hungary with the "M.G.N. Dance Theatre Stuttgart" for several years as well as teaching professionally. After coming to the U.S. in 1986 she intensified her knowledge in the Cecchetti Method of classical ballet and completed the teacher's coach certification in this method. She briefly worked with the 'Delta Festival Ballet' of New Orleans and the 'State Ballet of Alabama' on their productions of the Nutcracker Ballet and has choreographed for musicals like 'Oklahoma', Bye, Bye Birdie', 'Anything Goes' and 'Bells are Ringing'. Angelika has been on the faculty since 1995 teaching ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance and has presented choreographies for the annual Orchesis major dance concerts. She also directed the major dance concert in February 2001.
