Carol J. Blanchard, Professor Emeritus
Carol J. Blanchard designs costumes for stage, video and film. She works for companies such as Chicago’s Victory Gardens Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, Drury Lane Oakbrook Theatre, and The Silk Road Theatre Project; Cleveland Symphony’s Blossom Opera, Champlain Shakespeare Festival, Center Stage, Milwaukee’s First Stage Childrens’ Theatre, and Skylight Opera. Carol has been nominated for several awards nationally, and was honored with Chicago’s prestigious Joseph Jefferson Award for Outstanding Costume Design for Porchlight Music Theatre’s production of Amadeus and an AfterDark Award for the design collaboration on David Henry Hwang’s Golden Child. She is a member of United Scenic Artists 829. Her design studio, CJ Blanchard Designs, is located in Chicago.
