Dr. James Ivey

iveyDr. Ivey teaches Theatre History, Script Analysis and Directing, in addition to directing Mainstage productions. He has degrees from the University of Kansas, University of Illinois, and Texas Tech University. He was the chair of theatre at Hardin-Simmons University for nine years. Dr. Ivey has directed over twenty major productions, performed in over sixty productions, and written and directed his own play, A World of Their Own. Having performed professionally in Chicago and Dallas, Dr. Ivey is a member of Actors' Equity and the Screen Actor's Guild. He has performed leading roles in Man of LaMancha, Hello Dolly!, The Music Man, and A Little Night Music for such companies as the Goodman and Athanaeum theatres in Chicago, the Paramount Theatre in Abilene, Texas, the Dallas Repertory Theatre and Theatre Three in Dallas, Texas.
