Samantha Kenney
Samantha Kenney is Assistant Professor of Dance, joining the Fredonia faculty in 2007. She received her BFA cum laude from the Purchase College/SUNY Conservatory of Dance in 1998. As a member of the Purchase Dance Corps, her performance repertory included works by José Limon, Doug Varone, and Tere O’Connor, and she was one of 16 dancers chosen to represent Purchase at the International Festival of Dance Academies in 1997. After receiving her MFA from Smith College in 2004, she became a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, teaching modern, jazz, tap, composition and repertory. Since arriving at Fredonia she has been the choreographic advisor for The Rocky Horror Show and choreographer for Victor, Victoria!. She also choreographed two pieces and danced in the Fredonia Dance Ensemble Concert in March 2008. She serves as the faculty advisor for Orchesis, the student dance organization.
