Todd Proffitt
Todd Proffitt teaches Lighting Design, Sound Design and Computer Technologies for the Department of Theatre and Dance at SUNY-Fredonia. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the Lighting Designer for the Department of Theatre and Dance. Before moving to Fredonia, Mr. Proffitt served as Interim Technical Director for Loyola University in New Orleans. In May 1999, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Design from Texas Tech University. In addition to Loyola, he has served in a variety of technical and design positions in such companies as The Chautauqua Theatre Company; The Paul Robeson Theatre in Buffalo Ny; Buffalo State College; The Producers Circle in New Orleans; Wildwood Park for the Performing Arts in Little Rock, Arkansas; Anglefire Mountain Theatre Group in Anglefire, New Mexico; Central Missouri Repertory in Warrensburg, Missouri; and The Des Moines Metro Opera in Des Moines, Iowa as well as many others. In 1994, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Central Missouri State University and in 1999 was the recipient of The United States Institute of Theatre Technology's Barbazon Award for Lighting Design.
