Welcome to SUNY Fredonia's EAP Website
It is estimated that lost time, decreased productivity, medical expenses, and accidents on the job cost the American workplace millions of dollars annually. Recognizing that most behavioral problems can be successfully alleviated led New York State and its unions (CSEA, PEF COUNCIL 82, UUP, and DC37) to develop a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
The New York State EAP is a peer assistance program jointly sponsored by labor and management, and provides CONFIDENTIAL information, assessment, and referral services to all New York State employees, their family members, and retirees. It also provides orientations and training for all employees, managers, supervisors, and union representatives on benefits and use of EAP.
The program is most successful if employees seek assistance during the early stages of their problems. With early intervention and treatment, they can maintain productive employment, and personal relationships can be salvaged.
