The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Committee is pleased to announce their summer Walk for Wellness campaign for the months of June and July!
Walking is fabulous exercise – it strengthens your immune system, helps your bones stay strong, boosts your energy level, helps you manage stress, reduces your risk of cardiovascular disease, helps you lose weight and body fat, and tones your muscles… and it’s FREE to enjoy!
We sincerely hope everyone will participate in this program – for the wonderful health benefits (as well as the chance to be entered into many prize drawings). All you need to do is keep a daily log of the miles you walk that are for EXERCISE. You can walk inside, outside, or on a treadmill. Just keep track of all the “extra” miles you walk each day. Miles logged while “on-the-job” do not count, just the extra miles you log for the purpose of fitness. For example, miles that WOULD count would be walking to and from work or the store, running errands (rather than taking the car), miles logged during break/lunch and after dinner, miles on a treadmill. Miles that would NOT count, would be miles incurred while during your normal/regular work routine, while grocery shopping, normal/regular housework, etc.
Please track your miles each day (Sunday – Saturday) and turn them in by e-mailing them to eap@fredonia.edu or faxing them to 673-3210 the following Monday.
