The Roar of the Grease Paint-The Smell of the Crowd and the enticing lure of the stage presents our very own thespians from Rochester (drumroll please . . . ) Nicholas Bernard (Dance/Rochester), Siobhan Hunter (Theatre Arts/Rochester), and Lorenzo Parnell (Music Performance/Rochester), making up the cast of this edition of Student Spotlight and a great ending to the 2012-13 Student Spotlight series.
Although Siobhan and Nick knew each other from high school, they (rather unexpectedly) met Lorenzo just before fall semester 2008 began, when the incoming EDP freshmen class took a field trip to Niagara Falls, NY. Lorenzo was also new to the campus, as he had transferred from Monroe Community College. He was invited to join the freshman group to visit the Falls and meet other Fredonia newbies. The Rochesteronians “met cute” when Lorenzo overheard Siobhan and Nick’s conversation which was raucous and filled with bons mots. He burst out laughing at/with them and the witty quips continued all around. Soon turning to song, the trio entertained the group and formed an instantaneous and long-lasting bond.
All seniors, this talented threesome has been prolific during their time at Fredonia. Their most recent (2012-13) outstanding, on-campus performances include: Chicago, The Piano Lesson (Nick); Stage Door, The Piano Lesson (Siobhan); The Hillman Opera, Madrigal Feaste (Lorenzo). These performances are just a very, very small sampling of what they have accomplished. Even though they will all graduate by the end of 2013, we surely haven’t seen or heard the last of them yet.
