Student Spotlight - Karyn Zea

Karyn is s a senior Communication Disorders and Sciences major with a Spanish minor from Queens and will graduate this May. Karyn has volunteered at the WCA home, soup kitchen, and as a mentor to underclassmen in her major. She has also served on the e-board for Latinos Unidos as secretary and historian. Karyn has made deans list for 6 semesters and is graduating with a 3.75 GPA. She has also been a peer advisor for Jewels summer program. She has been a recipient of the Ralph Wilson award and a member of the Chi alpha epsilon National Honor society. She has also been a work-study for Property Control and the Marketing & Communication departments. Karyn has also worked as a classroom aide for Buffalo Hearing and Speech center and as a Resident assistant for two different residence halls on campus. She is also a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She plans on returning to Fredonia for graduate school in the fall to pursue her masters in Speech-language pathology.  



My experiences as an EDP student, joining a sorority and being a resident assistant have shaped my college experience in every memorable way possible. EDP has not only guided by giving me all the resources I need but has also given meet the opportunity to meet lifetime friends.”


Advice for underclassmen:

“These 4 years fly by so remember to have fun and enjoy yourself while still making sure to do well in your classes by staying organized and managing your time wisely.”
