Definitions:
Blog:
A web-log, or Blog, is a collection of articles on a web page, usually posted in reverse chronological order (newest first). The most common forms of blogs today are news related or those in the form of online journals.
RSS:
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is an internet format for content distribution. The most popular uses of RSS include web logs (blogs) and news websites. An RSS file that contains specific updates for a particular site is called an ‘RSS Feed.’ An RSS feed can include a link to a website, text, images, audio (i.e. podcasts), and video. A publisher can update their RSS feed whenever new content is available. A subscriber can use a ‘Feed Reader’ to view one or more RSS feeds of interest.
RSS Feeds:
An RSS feed is a file that contains information (web-links, text, images, audio, and/or video) relating to a particular website. When new content is added to the website, the feed is updated (usually automatically) and made available to subscribers.
RSS Feed Readers:
An RSS feed reader is a program (either web-based or installed on a computer) that allows a person to subscribe to various RSS Feeds. The feed reader will manage all subscriptions, checking each feed regularly for updates. When updates are available the subscriber will be notified that there is new content available.
