1. NYS GIS Annual Conference
   1. This is a 2-day fall conference, typically held in early October. It takes place in a different location in New York State every year.
   2. Students have attended several times in the past. One year a group of students presented a poster.

2. Middle States Division of the Association of American Geographers
   1. This is a 2-day fall conference, typically held in late October. It takes place in a different location in the Middle States Division, which includes, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, every year.

3. GIS/SIG (GIS Special Interest Group) Annual Conference
   1. This a 1-day spring conference, typically held in mid-April in the Rochester area.
   2. In the past, attendance at this conference has been required of the GIS 301 students.
