Document historic development graphic

Document historic development: This map was part of a student project documenting the development of Barcelona, New York. Before the railroad went through, it was thought that Barcelona might rival Buffalo as an important harbor. Onondaga salt was shipped to Pittsburgh and points south via Barcelona, the Portage Road (Rte. 394), Chautauqua Lake, and the Chadakoin River to the Allegheny River.
