Course
The "Connections" Duathlon consists of a 14-mile bike loop through the streets of Dunkirk and Fredonia, followed by a 5K (3.1 mile) run along the shores of Lake Erie. Download a description of the Duathlon route.
Bike Route:
- The “Connections” Duathlonstarts at the SUNY Fredonia Business Technology Incubator at 214 Central Ave. in Dunkirk, NY. Start on Central Avenue in front of the Business Technology Incubator (Dunkirk).
- Follow Central Ave. from Downtown Dunkirk into Fredonia. Central Ave. will dead-end into Temple Street. Turn left onto Temple Street. (3 miles)
- Temple becomes Water Street beyond Main Street in Downtown Fredonia. Continue on Water Street to Webster Road. (2 miles)
- Turn right on Webster Road to Chautauqua St. (2 miles)
- Turn right on Chautauqua St. Just before Rte 20 (Main Street) turn right onto Houghton. Houghton will dead end into Seymour St. (1.25 miles)
- Turn left on Seymour Street, which becomes Chestnut Street after the light. Continue on Chestnut to Willow. (2.5 miles)
- Turn right onto Willow and take it to Brigham Road. (2.25 miles)
- Turn right on Lakeshore Drive. End at Memorial Park Transition Area. (1500 feet or so).

Running Route:
The running route for the 2nd Annual Connections Duathlon has changed from last year per the request of the City of Dunkirk.
- The run will start at the Memorial Park Transition Area and head east along the run/bike path.
- The run will continue east behind the Clarion Hotel along the shores of Lake Erie to Lake Front Blvd.
- Follow Lake Front Blvd. turning right on North Serval St.
- Left on East Pine St.
- Left on N. Warsaw St. to Wright Park Drive.
- Follow Wright Park Dr. back to Lake Front Blvd.
- Follow Lake Front Blvd back to Memorial Park.
- Runners will never cross. Throughout the run, runners will be on the right, with opposing running traffic (if any) on their left.

Registration
On-line registration (credit card payment only) is available until 12 (noon) on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
You can also download a PDF of the registration form and mail it with your entry fee to: SUNY-Fredonia, Attn. Sherri A. Mason, Fredonia, NY 14063.
Pre-registration entries fees (received by April 12, 2011) include a t-shirt.
On-site registration will run from 8:00 - 9:00 AM on the day of the event at the SUNY Fredonia Business Technology Incubator. Day-of registration fees are $5 more than pre-registration entry fees and do not guarantee receipt of t-shirt.
Packet Pick Up
Packets will be available for pick up on the day of the event from 8:00 - 9:15 AM at the SUNY Fredonia Business Technology Incubator.

The award ceremony will take place at 12 (noon) at the SUNY Fredonia Business Technology Incubator. Post-race refreshments will be provided.
Lodging
If needing overnight accomodations, we recommend the Clarion Hotel (30 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk, NY, 14048; (716) 366-8350). The Clarion Hotel is conveniently located 2 blocks down from the SUNY Business Technology Incubator along the shores of Lake Erie.
Proceeds
Proceeds from the "Connections " Duathlon will help provide support for "Green" Initiatives and Sustainability Endeavors within Chautauqua County.
