Founded as a teacher's college, Fredonia offers many programs in the field of education, including elementary education, middle/high school education content areas, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), music education, and public education administration.  Want to teach but do not possess initial certification?  We offer programs to get you in the classroom sooner.

But our professional certification programs are only part of the story.  If your goals do not include teaching in a public schools, SUNY Fredonia will prepare you for a career or further education in speech pathologyscience, literature, or music.  Research and teaching opportunities, field experiences, performances, and clinical placements provide a real world look into your chosen career.  You may even find yourself participating in unique summer graduate offerings or studying abroad to enhance your graduate education experience.

If you are looking for a different type of graduate experience or you have an area or interest that spans two or more disciplines, our signature Interdisciplinary Studies program is for you.  The program is designed for maximum independence.  You choose a topic and solicit faculty support from at least two disciplines to help you construct your degree program.  We help you obtain the coursework you need and oversee your program.  Our students have taken advantage of this unique program to research subjects as diverse as health & wellness, sound engineering, and the effects of poverty on local Native American communities.

So explore our programs and apply today.  Take that first step on your journey toward a successful and meaningful future.
