This "CLP AuthorSheet" is one of the guides to critical essays
on authors that are produced by the Humanities Staff at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. It consists of a bibliography of 77 commentaries on Hardy's writings found in books ranging in date from
1919 to 1995. The essays are briefly identified as to subject--e.g., "Novels", "Jude
the Obscure," "Poetry," "Realism in Literature"--and approach--e.g., "Criticism,"
"Biography."
COMMENT:
A compilation intended for student use and limited to the resources of
the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Main Library, but helpful as an index to commentary in books not specifically about Hardy.
