COMMENT:
The "Overview of the Principal Internet Resources for
Victorian Studies" provides none not
linked to this TTHA site. "Works by Thomas Hardy"
supplies links to "Project Gutenberg," "the Oxford
Text Archive," and some other Hardy e-texts, all available
from this TTHA site, as are other links to remote sites.
"Images of Hardy and Hardy's Wessex" makes some
photographs available for downloading. See our GENERAL CAUTION about such texts and
images. "An Annotated Selection of Bibliographies on
Hardy" states that it provides only a list of reviews of Tess--but,
in fact, the page is empty. "Criticism and Reviews Related
to Hardy" cites only five reviews, while "Other Hardy
Pages" provides links to only two, both evaluated and linked
from this TTHA site. And, perhaps most tellingly, "Upcoming
Hardy Events" leads to a long outdated announcement of the
1996 Hardy conference!
SUMMARY:
Although it claims to be "the primary site for those
researching Thomas Hardy on the Internet," except for a few
pictures, this site is of little consequence for Hardy
scholarship and appears to be moribund.
