DESCRIPTION:

Address: THE DORSET COUNTY MUSEUM
Date: 07/01/04

Provides the DCM address, telephone number, fax number, and visiting hours, as well as a text divided into three main parts:

  1. "A Writer's Dorset," which very briefly describes the Hardy collection and includes mention of a few other writers associated with Dorset.
  2. "Moments of Love," which offers for sale a deluxe limited edition of "Hardy's Love Poems to Emma"--45 pages of facsimile and 65 of printed text--with introduction by James Gibson, foreword by the Earl of Stockton, and an authentic signature by Hardy (one of the autographs Hardy inscribed for a 1927 signed edition that was never published.
  3. "The Dorset County Museum," which provides a very brief general description of the collection.

COMMENT:

Too brief and general to be of direct use to scholars seeking detailed information about the extraordinarily rich research resources on Hardy contained in the DCM, but valuable for the address, telephone number, and fax number it supplies. See, also, Links A 73, the DCM Home Page
