Part of a Finnish "Calendar of Authors" from which the
user designates a month and a day, and is then given a page
displaying a brief biographical note and list of writings of a
famous author born on that day. This Hardy page consists of a
list of the titles of 14 writings about Hardy, prefaced by the
brief biographical note and followed by a list of forty "selected works" by Hardy.
COMMENT:
The brief biographical note is remarkable for its mistaken assertions and confusing syntax. We are informed, for example, that "Unable to find public for his poetry, the novelist George Meredith advised Hardy to write a novel."
