COMMENT:
Supplementary to both the Gibson and the Hynes critical editions of Hardy's poetry, neither of which cites this corrected holograph. In Vol. III, p. 327 of The Complete Poetical Works of Thomas Hardy, Samuel Hynes states: "A manuscript of the poem, formerly in the Bliss collection, has not been located."
