The Humanities Text Initiative is sponsored by several organizations at the University of Michigan and is intended to provide access to texts in the humanities. Its Modern English Collection includes e-texts of Hardy's Far from the Madding Crowd, Jude the Obscure, The Return of the Native, and Tess of the d'Urbervilles. These may be searched for single words or phrases, or for Boolean combinations,or for the proximity of two or three words in a given paragraph.
