A "Dorset E-zine," related to a print magazine, Dorset Life. Its "About Dorset" section includes three brief articles related to Hardy: (1) "Mother of Invention," a short biography of Hardy's mother, Jemima, written by Maureen Stewart and including three pictures; (2) "A 1920's Childhood" by Isabel Bearpark, with pictures of the interior of Hardy's cottage; and (3) "Hardy's Real Barber Percomb" by Ahmno Tracy.
COMMENT:
The brief biography of Jemima Hardy is accurate, but no sources are identified nor is any documentation
provided. The account of a 1920's childhood in Hardy's cottage is primarily personal anecdote. "Hardy's Real Barber Percomb" argues, with little persuasiveness, that Hardy's Percomb was based on a barber named Pearce Gideon of 19th century Sherborne because the name "Percomb" is a sound play on "Pearce Gideon."
