COMMENT:

This site has not been revised since July of 1996. The link to the Encyclopedia Britannica provides only a sub-page with a request for username and password but no information about Hardy on it; for details about the Britannica's information on Hardy, see our Link B 23.

The "Links to selected poetry" consists of a list of some thirty poems, but titles in the list are sometimes confusingly given--e.g., "The Respectable Burgher In Tenebris"; furthermore, only eleven are actually linked: "Hap," "Neutral Tones," "A Broken Appointment," "The Darkling Thrush," "In Tenebris I [cited as 'Wintertime nighs']," "Channel Firing," "The Convergence of the Twain," "The Voice," "The Oxen," "In Time of 'The Breaking of Nations,'" and "He Never Expected Much." The reliability of the linked text sources varies greatly. See our GENERAL CAUTION about such texts.

The "Review of Thomas Hardy sites" provides links to and very brief uncritical descriptions of three sites; one link is broken and the other two differ greatly in quality and reliability. All are described and evaluated at this TTHA site.
