A collection of e-texts, including Hardy's "Drummer
Hodge," "In the Time of 'The Breaking of
Nations,'" "The Darkling Thrush," The Convergence
of the Twain," "The Self Unseeing," "The
Unborn," "To an Unborn Pauper Child," "The House of Hospitalities," and "The Voice."
COMMENT:
The master, Gareth McCaughan, is a Research Fellow in pure
mathematics at Peterhouse College, Cambridge. He provides no
information about the print sources from which the e-texts were
keyed in, but does say that some of the poems "are still in copyright" but that he is trying to contact the copyright holders. About the texts of the poems themselves, he states that
"[s]ome of them have been entered from memory, so there are
bound to be mistakes." That warning should be heeded: the
title of Hardy's "The Unborn," for example, is given as
"The Cave of the Unborn." See our GENERAL
CAUTION about such texts.
