A favorable review by Simon Gatrell of Michael Millgate's Testamentary Acts (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 1992), which is a study of how Hardy, Browning, Tennyson, and Henry James attempted to control the treatment of their life and work after their deaths.
COMMENT:
About one fifth of this five-page review is devoted to discussion of the Millgate book--and nothing in detail about Hardy. The other four fifths focus on William Allingham.
