Searches of the electronic union catalogue may be made by author, title, or keyword, and searches may be limited to some countries or states, to books that are signed or first editions or with dust jackets and may be limited to minimum and maximum price in US Dollars. The catalogues of individual booksellers may also be searched or browsed.
COMMENT:
Booksellers participating in this electronic catalogue are nearly all small; Advanced Book Exchange describes them as mostly "mom and pop operations." Prices range widely, and entries can vary greatly in both fullness of bibliographic detail and of description of condition. A search for "Thomas Hardy" as keyword yielded an estimated 13840 titles of primary and secondary works, and included anthologies and other works not specifically devoted to Hardy. Similar searches done earlier have yielded hits ranging from
1177 to 3097.
