An extensive collection of links to Web sites related to English and American literature, as well as other subjects, including a page devoted to Hardy that is separately described and evaluated in our TTHA Link A 9, "Thomas Hardy (Japan)". Arranged in twenty seven major parts that include separate listings for certain Victorian writers--Dickens, Gaskell, Gissing, and Bronte--as well as pages devoted to "American Authors," "Japan," "Bible," "Fine Arts" and other subjects. Links are arranged alphabetically under each category. Pages likely to be of particular interest to Hardy scholars include these:

  1. "Victorian Web Sites"
  2. "English Literature"
  3. "19th C. British Authors"
  4. "British Authors"

COMMENT:

Matsuoka includes very many links related to the Victorian period, Victorian authors, and literature in English generally, that are not linked from our TTHA site. Pages linked are neither described nor evaluated; they vary greatly in quality. Given the enormous coverage attempted at this site, it is not surprising that sometimes there are links to sites long abandoned. Nevertheless, this remains one of the most important sources of potentially useful information about the Victorian period and Victorian authors, as well as British and American authors generally, available on the WWW.
