A collection of links to sites on the Internet deemed useful to academics, but stated to exclude sites providing only single e-texts. A single-word search engine is provided. Arranged in two main parts:

  1. "Literary Resources on the Net" leads to sub-pages on major literary periods, including "Victorian British," and to such other topics as "Theatre and Drama," "Women's Literature & Feminism," "Ethnicities and Nationalities," "Other National Literatures," "Bibliography & History of the Book," and "Hypertext."
  2. "General Sources" includes links to sub-pages containing such matters as guides to on-line resources, to syllabi and course materials, and to resources for writers and writing instructors.

The "Victorian British" sub-page provides some sixty links to pages on topics ranging from mailing lists, to a 19th century British timeline, to various journals, to such topics as "War and Romance," "Victorian Sensationalism," and to pages devoted to individual Victorian authors, including Hardy.

COMMENT:

This web site provides an exceptionally wide-ranging collection of links to resources on the Internet, and its 'Victorian British' sub-page is valuable for the wealth of connections it makes to sites potentially useful for Hardy scholars and others doing research on the Victorian period.
