The Student Health Center provides currently enrolled Fredonia students with confidential primary care of acute illness and injury, health education, immunizations, preventative health and laboratory services.
No charge for office visits
Many of the services at the Student Health Center are covered by the mandatory health fee. There may be charges for some services provided such as allergy shots, immunizations and emergency contraception. All services provided outside the Student Health Center, such as outpatient laboratories, x-rays, and emergency room visits are the student's responsibility.
Qualified, friendly staff
Our clinical staff includes registered nurses, a physician, and nurse practitioners. Students can come in at anytime Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to be seen.
The Health Center has a van that can be used to transport students to Brooks Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, Outpatient Services, Chautauqua County Health Department, and local physician offices. The van is staffed by our student workers, and is used at the discretion of the Health Center Staff. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please contact the Health Center if you need transportation to verify availability.
When the Health Center is closed
Emergency care is always available at Brooks Memorial Hospital. The hospital is located at 529 Central Ave, Dunkirk, approximately 3 miles from the campus. For any emergency on campus or when an ambulance is needed, the University Police should be called at (716) 673-3333. If there is an emergency when you are off campus, dial 911.
