ANNOUNCEMENT OF FACULTY VACANCY

SUNY Fredonia is recruiting for the following faculty position and invites applications from interested candidates.

Department:     Visual Arts and New Media
Title: Assistant Professor in Interactive Media Arts
Starting Date: Fall 2008

Description of Duties
The Department of Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia invites applications for a full time, tenure-track Assistant Professor.  Teaching, advising, program development, and lab coordination are balanced with continued creative productivity and departmental/university service. The candidate will teach introductory through advanced undergraduate courses in interactive media arts and will actively participate in a department with a diverse range of undergraduate programs. 

Applicants should express an interest in teaching conceptual and technical aspects of interactive media art in a fine arts context, which may include video, audio, web based development, and installation.  It is highly desirable that the applicant be versed in both digital and analog technologies.  Candidate will develop curriculum and course content in a dynamic and growing media arts area encompassing animation, interactivity and digital video.

Qualifications
Qualifications include an MFA in Media Arts or related area and a strong record of professional activity.
