ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL VACANCY

The Research Foundation of the State University of New York announces a position available for a full time 12-month Out of School Youth Coordinator with The Fredonia Migrant Education Outreach Program at the State University of New York at Fredonia.  The job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct educational services to the migrant out of school youth in the three counties of western New York
  • Making home visits and completing needs assessment on each student
  • Developing and implementing an educational program that meets the needs of the population
  • Establishing contact with employers
  • Coordinating services with other agencies to expand opportunities for the migrant youth
  • Attending local and state meetings, seminars, conferences and workshops to enhance personal growth
  • Documenting services provided

Services to this population will most likely take place in the evenings and on weekends.  Applicants must be able to work at those times and have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

Minimum requirements:  BS in education or related field.  Be fluent in speaking, reading and writing Spanish.  Have excellent organizational skills and experience working with adolescent/multicultural students.
