Background

In partnership with the City of Dunkirk and Chautauqua County, the university has obtained significant funding from New York State, NYSTAR and others, including the city and county, to build and operate a world-class technology business incubator. The home for this incubator is currently in the design phase. In the meantime, the incubator will operate in a temporary location on Central Avenue in the City of Dunkirk a short distance from the university campus. Business Opportunity

To either a tenant or an affiliate business, the incubator will provide a wide range of resources and services such as business planning, assistance in locating funding, mentors, consultants and shared services. The goal is to assist faculty, students, alumni, business people and other entrepreneurs to start and grow successful businesses based on technology related products. There will also be opportunities for internships for junior and senior class students with incubator associated businesses.

Entrance Criteria

Business people will need to meet certain entrance criteria to enter the incubator program. Examples are a technology related business opportunity, adequate resources, good growth potential, a commitment to the region and the ability to benefit from the incubator program.
