Undergraduate Freshman and Transfer Students

  • SUNY Undergraduate Application -  online and paper form.
  • Application Deadline:  Although Fredonia processes applications all throughout the year, students should try to submit their application by May 1 for the fall semester, or by November 1 for the spring semester.
  • Transcripts - Freshman and transfer applicants must submit their high school diploma and all college transcripts.  We require a minimum GPA of 2.0 or equivalent to be considered for transfer admission.
  • FSA 2 Autobiographical Essay - This essay helps to demonstrate English proficiency and gives us a chance to learn more about you.
  • FSA 3 English Proficiency Report - International students must complete the FSA 3 English Proficiency Report even if their native language is English.  Students whose native language is not English are required to submit scores from at least one of the following accepted standardized tests: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), Test of English as a Foreign Langauage (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS).  A minimum iBT score of 64 or its equivalent is required for admission.  Test scores must be sent directly to SUNY Fredonia.  Students transferring from accredited colleges within the U.S. who have successfully completed more than 30 transferable credit hours do not need to submit a standardized test score.   Our school code for reporting the TOEFL, IELTS, and the SAT score electronically is 2539.  
  • FSA 4 Financial Statement- All international applicants must submit evidence of full financial support for all expenses at SUNY Fredonia as a condition of being issued immigration documents for F-1 or J-1 status (i.e., the Certificate of Eligibility, form I-20AB or DS-2019).  Applicants must submit the FSA 4 form signed by both the applicant and the applicant's financial sponsor and an original bank statement verifying the available funds.  Both of these documents must be originals with original signatures and seals. While an admission decision can be made without the financial documentation, the I-20 or DS-2019 forms cannot be issued until both documents are received.
  • Application Fee - Paid to SUNY APC.

  • Application Deadline: Contact your department for application deadlines.
  • Transcripts - graduate applicants must have completed a baccalaureate degree to be eligible for admission.  Submission of official transcripts is required from all institutions attended.

  • Application Fee - $50.00 USD non-refundable international money order made payable to: SUNY Fredonia.
  • Two recent recommendation letters - in a sealed envelopes with the signature of the writer across the seal.

  • Statement of Intent - explaining your interest, what your hopes are, and why you selected SUNY Fredonia.

What is the status of my application?
 
You may access your current application status by logging on to our website at www.fredonia.edu/admissions/. You will need your Fredonia student identification number in order to log on. Your student identification number will be emailed to you upon receipt of your application. Your PIN (personal identification number) is your 6 digit date of birth in 2-digit month, 2-digit date, 2-digit year format. For example, July 10, 1988 is 071088.

What is my Fredonia ID (Fredonia student identification number)?
 
We will email your Fredonia ID once we receive your application. If you have not received your Fredonia ID within two weeks from the time you applied, please contact us and we will provide this information.
